How to Choose a Web Development Company in Georgia

Ordering a website: 7 questions to ask before you start

In short: choose a web company on the strength of real, verifiable work, a transparent written proposal and clear terms — who owns the domain and code, and who maintains the site after launch. Price matters, but it should not be the only criterion.

1. Check a real portfolio

Open the project links and see whether the sites still work, how they look on mobile and whether they resemble your task. A trustworthy studio names clients and links to live sites. In WebStrategy's portfolio, for example, every project links to the real website.

2. How to judge whether a website is well built

  • Open it on a few phones — menu, forms, buttons;
  • Run PageSpeed Insights;
  • Check that pages have unique titles (look at the browser tab);
  • Send a test enquiry through the form;
  • Check for https and broken links.

3. Freelancer or agency?

A freelancer is often cheaper and more flexible — a good choice for a small site. An agency usually offers more continuity: if one person is unavailable, the project does not stop. Either way, written terms and a support plan are what matter.

4. Questions to ask a developer

  • Do you have a similar project I can look at?
  • What is and is not included in the price?
  • How long will it take, and what does the timeline depend on?
  • Can I edit the content myself?
  • Whose name will the domain and hosting be in? Will I receive the code?
  • How does handover work, and how many revision rounds are included?
  • Who will help after launch, and on what terms?

5. What the contract should cover

Scope (pages, features, languages), price and payment schedule, timeline, revision rounds, acceptance procedure, ownership of domain, hosting and code, and support terms. At WebStrategy these terms are agreed in writing for each project.

6. Template or custom design

A template is fast and cheap but may carry unnecessary code and look like other sites. Custom design is shaped around your brand and structure. Ask which one you are being offered.

7. For small businesses

A small business rarely needs the most complex solution: a fast, mobile-friendly site with clear services, a call button and a contact form is often enough. Launch with what you need and grow from there.

Red flags

"Guaranteed #1 on Google", "100/100 speed on every page", or a price with no detail behind it.
